Acquaviva Picena is situated on a hill where it is possible to see a spectacular views with rolling hills and the Apennines mountains. Acquaviva Picena is located at the province of Ascoli Piceno and it is awarded with the Orange Flag.
The Medieval Village of Acquaviva Picena is surronded by walls and ramparts that preserve the mighty fortress with a Renaissance military architecture. The square is the barycentre of the historic center between two opposite hills. On the west hill stands the Rocca and on the eastern one the Terra Nova, that is the town expansion during the Renaissance time. The streets of the village are almost parallel and connected by ramps tiers as the picturesque Trabucco alley, where there were war machines such as catapults.
Acquaviva Picena offers to its visitors the beautiful Rocca, that is now the home of the Ancient Weapons Museum, Saint Lorenzo Church where there is a seventeenth-century altarpiece, Saint Francisco Church and Convent according to the Saint of Assisi tradition and the Pajarola Museum a typical straw basket.
