Frontino is placed on Montefeltro in the province of Pesaro-Urbino. In March 2014, it was included in the most beautiful circuit village in Italy.

The town’s name derives from Castrum Frontini, probably with Roman origin. In the sixth century the fortress was used by Lombards.

Frontinoartistic and cultural heritage boasts the presence of the St. Jerome Monastery, that stands where it was built a small Church that hosted the St. Jerome Order.

The Montefiorentino Conventi s in the Church of the Convent, where is the splendid Oliva Counts Chapel built in the late fifteenth century by Simone Ferrucci. There is on the altar a Giovanni Santi masterpiece “Virgin Mary with Child, Saints, Angels and Patron” of the end of the fifteenth century.

Moreover, in the old town there is the Town Hall with the Civic Tower and the noble Vandini Palace. The fountain give a contemporary touch and it is a water sculpture of Franco Assetto, who here he found his place and his works are preserved in the museum named after him.

Before going up to the old town and on the right side, there is the mill of Old Bridge, which is to fourteenth century and it was linked to the castle foundation, which supplied flour and bread. It was also equipped with a defense and watchtower.
