This is one of the records that Rejecelle, Città della Pieve and San Giorgio Morgeto are contending. We are more than sure, instead, that it belongs to a small village in the Marche region.
It is called Ripatransone. It is located in the province of Ascoli Piceno. One of the things you must see in this wonderful town, is this small road just 43 cm large. You should know that the structure of the street is irregular, and that the median point measured 38 cm. If you are thinking if it is possible to cross it,you answer immediately: yes.
43 cm correspond more or less to the height of the shoulders of an average height man. In the narrowest part reaches 38 centimetres, we will have to do some operations but it will be easy. Once you have accomplished the mission, you should go to the tourist office that will issue the certificate stating the crossing of the narrowest alley in Italy. Even if it dates back to a very remote period, the discovery dates back to 1968 when the measurement of all the alleys of the old town was carried out by professor Antonio Giannetti.
What should you know before visiting this place? Well, that is in the middle of the Belvedere of the Piceno area, there are stunning views. It has very ancient origins and it was known as “Le Ripe” a place between Fermo and Ascoli Piceno. It has many places to visit (monuments and churches), and you can eat very well (here they produce an excellent wine and an excellent olive oil).
