Which villages in the Marche have received the orange flag?

Why are only the inland villages named? And which are those from the Marche region? Discover these and much more (and don’t miss to take a look at all the pictures in the gallery!)

The villages that have the tourist-environmental quality mark, conferred by the

Touring Club Italiano, awarded the orange flag. The recognition is given only to inland municipalities, provided they have a maximum of 15 thousand inhabitants and they distinguished for excellence and quality of hospitality.

The project of the orange flags (unlike the

blue flag) is uniquely Italian but has also been included in the World Tourism Organization. To date there are 227 and 22 are in the Marche, we are only behind Piedmont and Tuscany.

In the province of Ancona: Corinaldo, Genga, Offagna, Ostra, Serra San Quirico, Staffolo.

In the province of Fermo: Monterubbiano.

In the province of
Ascoli Piceno: Acquaviva Picena, Ripatransone.

In the province of Pesaro – Urbino: Frontino, Gradara, Mercatello sul Metauro, Mondavio, Cantiano.

In the province of Macerata: Camerino, Montecassiano, Montelupone, Pievebovigliana, San Ginesio, Sarnano, Urbisaglia, Visso.
